The reforms are percolating to the other aspects of the state’s education space, with a number of the teachers in public schools in the state receiving national awards for their devotion to service and innovation in the classroom.

The governor was awarded the NUT Governor of Year by the Nigerian Union of Teachers in 2019 in recognition of his multifaceted reforms and initiatives in the state’s education sector.
